I really expected a lot more from this issue, Image did a lot of hyping it up and it sounded like some fucking huge major things were going to happen and it turns out they kind of hyped it up too much. Sure the death of Glenn was kind of big because he is one of the only characters left that survived since the beginning and his death was pretty brutal but I just expected more, like for everyone to die or at least someone like Rick to die because that would have really been a “holy shit” moment. And in a lot of ways this arc is just starting to feel like The Governor 2.0, but I do kind of like that the survivors seem pretty helpless against Negan and his whole crew.
Even though it was kind of disappointing I don’t think it was actually a bad issue, it just wasn’t as big and exciting as Image and Kirkman made it seem like it was going to be. I just hope this arc doesn’t drag on longer than it needs to and they start changing things up after that.
